What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adjunct Faculty in Dance position at The University of Southern Mississippi?
This position covers occasional adjunctteaching responsibilities in the dance program. This can include courses in dance history and theory, as well as in studio technique, depending on candidate's area of expertise and qualifications.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Instruction of assigned classes.
- Provide interim and final grades for enrolledstudents.
- Completing required assessment activities.
- Provide datafor General Education Curriculum assessment based onstudent achievement in the course as needed.
- Be available to student through officehours (face to face or virtual).
- Collaborating with faculty as necessary.
- Be responsive to students and director / staff via USM email.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications MFA or PhD in Dance or appropriaterelated field, or equivalent professional experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Experience in instructing dance techniques and other dancesubjects as determined by the needs of the program.
Preferred Qualifications Experience instructing dance in a higher education setting.
