TheCoordinator of Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) oversees the fraternity andsorority community's daily operations, supports student leaders, and fosters aninclusive environment that promotes academic achievement, leadershipdevelopment, and community engagement. This position involves advising studentorganizations, coordinating events, managing chapter operations, andimplementing educational programs related to hazing prevention, riskmanagement, and diversity. This position collaborates with campus offices toensure the FSL community aligns with institutional policies and supportsstudent growth. They liaise between the university, inter / nationalorganizations, and local chapters to enhance student experience.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Recruitment and Retention : Oversees the recruitment process for fraternities, ensures that students are informed about the benefits of membership, and assists organizations with strategies to retain members.
- Advising and Support : Provides guidance and support to fraternity and sorority chapter leaders, officers, and members, helping them navigate university policies, develop leadership skills, and resolve conflicts.
- Program Development and Implementation : Designs and executes educational programs and workshops that promote personal development, leadership, diversity, academic success, and social responsibility within the Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) community.
- Risk Management and Policy Compliance : Ensures that fraternities and sororities adhere to university policies, national organization standards, and legal requirements, including hazing prevention, alcohol management, and member safety.
- Community Building and Engagement : Fosters a positive relationship between fraternal organizations, the broader student body, and the local community through collaborative events, service opportunities, and initiatives that enhance the campus climate.
- Assessment and Reporting : Monitors and assesses the effectiveness of fraternity and sorority programs and activities, collecting data on membership trends, academic performance, and other key metrics to guide decision-making and improve the student experience.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’sDegree and two (2) years of experience working in a higher education setting asa student or professional. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
