Job Description
The Electrician II within the Maintenance and Repairs unit installs, operates, and maintains electrical systems and equipment for the UT Knoxville Campus. This individual also works as necessary to aid contractors and other crafts and trains craft assistants as needed. This position provides good customer service to internal and external customers and will support electrical needs for events and special occasions on campus.
Responsibilities
- Pulling wire and making up panel boards and other electrical equipment
- Bending, threading, and installing conduit as necessary
- Maintain lighting systems and controls of various types
- Maintain panelboards and switchboards of various types and sizes

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Technical training in industrial electricity along with two-years' experience or four-years' experience as a journeyman electrician with no technical training
A good working knowledge of electrical systems.
Other Conditions
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with U.T. Physical Plant procedures.
