Job Description

Under direct supervision, the Painter Assistant III will assist with preparing, repairing, and painting interior and exterior buildings, walls, ceilings, and other components.

Responsibilities

  • Paint different surfaces (interior and exterior).
  • Prepare surfaces for painting : scraping, sanding, cleaning, patching and repairing walls (Drywall and plaster), pressure washing
  • Clean work area and leave in original condition

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Education : High school diploma or GED
  • Experience : No Experience is necessary as this is an entry level position
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities :
  • Must have some knowledge of proper ladder use.

  • Must have some knowledge of proper hand tool use.
  • Must have some knowledge of safe work practices, be in good physical health and able to perform moderately strenuous work activities.
  • Must be able to pass and test for and wear a respirator.

    UT Facilities Services is responsible for the care and keeping of more than 300 facilities and utilities systems in and around Knoxville. As the University of Tennessee Knoxville's largest non-academic department, team members are responsible for facilities maintenance and repair, custodial needs, landscaping and lawncare, utility work, in-house and capital construction projects, facilities planning and design, environmental initiatives, pest control, campus event services, and facilities administration functions for both the flagship campus and the agricultural institute. The Facilities Services staff provides around-the-clock coverage to ensure students, staff, faculty, and fans have a consistent and positive experience every time they step foot on Rocky Top.
