Job Summary
The Maintenance Worker III provides sub-journeyman work in the performance of a variety of maintenance and repair, tasks in one or more craft areas. Responsible for building repairs, painting, door repair, tile repair, minor electrical, vendor coordination, kitchen equipment repairs, etc.

Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED .
- Three (3) years of experience in construction, maintenance, and/or repair work.
- This position requires a Texas Class “C” Operator’s Driver’s License and three (3) years of acceptable driving history.
- Four (4) years of experience performing a variety of subjourneyman maintenance and repair tasks.
- Thorough knowledge and experience of equipment used in all assigned trade areas.
- Assists journeyman & carpenters in major repair, maintenance, or construction projects, including:
- sheet rock replacement and repair, plumbing, painting, appliance repair (removal and install), light carpentry, cabinetry, ceramic tile repair, counter tops, flooring repair including (vinyl tile & plank), wall texture, door & hardware (installation and repair).
- Operate power tools and landscape equipment.
- Serves as essential personnel to the university and is required to report to work during campus emergencies and/or closures.
- Pick up trash and porter grounds.
- Provide routine work orders and emergency building repairs.
- Drives a UTA vehicle.
- Performs related duties as required.
