This position follows a hybrid work model, requiring periodic on-site attendance as determined by organizational needs. Purpose The Senior Epic Security and Access Analyst is responsible for managing and optimizing the security and access controls within the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system. Reporting to the Director of IT Security, this role collaborates closely with clinical staff, IT teams, and external vendors to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of patient data. Key responsibilities include overseeing user access provisioning, conducting security audits, and implementing role-based access controls (RBAC). Peer roles include Epic Security Analyst and Epic Application Analyst. Responsibilities User Access Management Manages the lifecycle of user accounts, including creation, modification, and deactivation. Ensures appropriate access levels are assigned based on job roles. Conducts regular audits to verify access compliance. Security Configuration and Optimization Configures and optimizes security settings within the Epic system. Implements RBAC and other security measures. Monitors system performance and security metrics. Incident Response and Troubleshooting Investigates and resolves security incidents and access issues. Provides technical support for security-related problems. Develops and implements corrective actions. Policy Development and Compliance Develops and enforces security policies and procedures. Ensures compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA). Conducts training sessions on security best practices. Project Management Leads security-related projects and initiatives. Coordinates with cross-functional teams to implement changes. Tracks project progress and reports status to stakeholders. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 5 years of relevant experience in healthcare IT security and access management. Epic certification in Security and Access Management. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 7 years of relevant experience in healthcare IT security and access management. Experience with Epic Systems and healthcare applications. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.
