This position manages the financial aid program for the Executive Education unit at the Jindal School of Management (JSOM), focusing on students enrolled in non-funded academic programs. Key responsibilities include overseeing the offering of student loans, collaborating with the Bursar's Office to set up tuition each term, and coordinating with the Registrar's Office to communicate class offerings for non-funded programs.

The role is dedicated to providing a concierge-level service, ensuring both students and academic programs receive exceptional support. This includes maintaining efficient financial operations and delivering a seamless experience for all stakeholders.

Minimum Education And Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Three plus years relevant professional experience.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Five to seven years of financial aid experience in higher education is preferred, along with hands-on experience using PeopleSoft, Orion, and other Oracle-based ERP systems.
  • A Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, along with a strong understanding of BBAY, SAY, and FAFSA, is also preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will have the ability to analyze and interpret federal and state regulations, as well as financial data and reports. A solid working knowledge of student information systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Banner, PowerFADS) is highly desirable.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Position Overview: The Assistant Director – ExecED Financial Aid will provide professional-level financial counseling to Executive Education students regarding available financial aid opportunities. This role will also represent Executive Education at events such as orientations and recruitment initiatives, while supervising, mentoring, and training staff to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert financial counseling to students on available financial aid options, including grants, scholarships, loans, Veterans Affairs benefits, exemptions, and waivers.
  • Represent Executive Education at various events, including orientation sessions and recruiting initiatives, to inform prospective students about available financial aid opportunities.
  • Supervise, mentor, and train financial aid personnel to maintain high standards of service and ensure staff development.
  • Manage, coordinate, and report on state, federal, and institutional financial aid programs, including grants, scholarships, loans, Veterans Affairs benefits, exemptions, and waivers.
  • Oversee the coordination, awarding, disbursement, needs analysis, packaging and repackaging, verification, and return of financial aid, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations.
  • Maintain, update, and troubleshoot financial aid systems such as Orion, PeopleSoft, SAP, and Title IV data to ensure smooth department operations and accurate record-keeping.
  • Review daily financial reports, including disbursements of aid, tuition charges, and tuition setup. Generate aging reports and manage student accounts from admissions through graduation.

Remote Work Notice

A hybrid remote work schedule may be available (currently 1-day remote weekly). Employee must be located within the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area and have the ability to be on campus for work activities as scheduled and/or with 24-hour notice. Completion and approval of a UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required upon employment. Use of personal computer, internet, and other standard equipment may be required. Remote work arrangements are subject to regular review and re-approval and may be canceled at any time.
