PhD Positions in Interdisciplinary Health Sciences with a Focus on Biomechanics at UTEP
Position Description: Dr. Jaeho Jang is seeking graduate students (Ph.D. students) to join his research group at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) for Fall 2025. This opportunity includes funding for full-time, on-site Ph.D. positions at UTEP in El Paso, TX. Admitted students will receive tuition remission, monthly stipends, and student health insurance. Prospective students are expected to: 1) work on research topics related to musculoskeletal injuries, specifically chronic ankle instability, and 2) serve as teaching assistants in Biomechanics or other related courses.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Master’s degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a related field.
- Experience in academic writing and publishing.
Preferred:
- Experience in Biomechanics data collection and analysis (e.g., 3-D motion capture, EMG analysis, or musculoskeletal modeling and simulation - OpenSim), particularly with patients who have musculoskeletal injuries or diseases.
- Proficiency in coding with MATLAB or Python.
- Previous teaching experience.
