Core Responsibilities
- Coordinate all aspects of UTSA Advancement Institute; collaborate with Advancement & Alumni Engagement colleagues to plan comprehensive professional development and training programs.
- Plan and implement logistics for trainings, such as securing a meeting location, managing registration, and coordinating day-of implementation, in-person and/or virtual; provide assistance with designing training programs and preparing slide-decks presentations.
- Ensure Advancement Institute webpage is up to date with current and upcoming offerings; proactively research relevant opportunities, compose webpage copy, and send monthly email to share upcoming opportunities.
- Assist with facilitating the onboarding process and initial trainings for new team members.
- Implement systems for evaluating the effectiveness of training programs; gather feedback from participants to continuously improve and tailor training initiatives.
- Stay abreast of new learning initiatives to keep fundraising and engagement teams updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
- Collaborate with Talent Management colleagues to develop, implement, and oversee an internship program, including recruitment, onboarding, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to cultivate future talent in the field; serve as primary liaison between interns and advancement colleagues.
- Manage annual budget for talent management programming; collaborate with colleagues to ensure program goals are met through resources planning.
- Assist with coordinating employee appreciation and recognition programs.
- Prepare, informational materials, presentations, reports, and other written correspondence.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Three years of relevant experience
- Additional experience/education may substitute for education/experience on a one for one basis.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Experience working in Advancement, Development, Human Resources, Marketing, Communications, Organizational Development, Public Relations, or similar field.
- Similar experience in higher education or non-profit atmosphere.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Effective judgment, tact, diplomacy, and discretion.
- Strong analytical, writing, organizational, and communication skills.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to link communications and initiatives with business objectives
- Demonstrated planning and organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines and manage details for multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem solving and consensus building skills
- Ability to transport event supplies and to travel to external meetings/events using a personal vehicle.
- Must have a valid driver’s license by first day of employment.
