Job Summary

The Assistant Director of Admissions will manage and coordinate the daily operations of the Admissions Welcome Center, events, and Patriot Ambassadors. Responsibilities include providing experience for prospective students and parents with individual, and/or group tour experiences, and facilitating on-campus events for prospective students. The position will be responsible for hiring, supervising, and training the Patriot Ambassadors.

Travel and some extended hours/weekend work is required of the position.

Major Responsibilities/Duties/Critical Tasks

Provide leadership in developing, implementing, and continually assessing the strengths and opportunities for the visit program and on-campus events.

Develop a comprehensive strategic vision for increasing visitor volume to campus experiences.

Create and maintain a script for Patriot Ambassadors and implement a follow-up process to visitors.

Encourage healthy and productive working relationships between the Welcome Center staff, Enrollment Services Division and other College offices.

Coordinates daily campus visits with prospective students between admissions, Patriot Ambassadors, advising, athletics, and student life to provide a positive campus visit experience.

Coordinate ASTRA. MC and MET requests.

Provide comprehensive training and implementation to patriot ambassadors and university staff.

Provide daily/weekly/monthly/yearly reporting and assessment.

Plan, lead and facilitate prospective student campus events, such as but not limited to, Top 25%, and Patriot Premiere.

Ability to travel to various campus locations to build/maintain partnerships, attend gatherings, events, and activities related to the responsibilities of the position.

Availability to work nights and weekends as needed.

Coordinate and oversee all functions of the Admissions Welcome Center and ensure that prospective students and visitors to campus have a positive experience.

Coordinate all daily and group tours and oversee professional staff and student workers.

Manage the student out-bound call center, timing campaigns with the needs of the enrollment cycle.

Minimum Required Education/Experience

Bachelor’s Degree. Master's degree preferred.

Three (3) years of experience in an admissions office required. Five (5) years of experience preferred.

Direct student recruitment experience including making presentations and coordination of events, programs, and collaborative activities across campus constituents, and with off-campus constituents preferred.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

• Work on weekends, outside of standard business hours required.

Additional Information

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.

This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code Section 51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. Applicants selected must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States by time of hire.
