Job Summary
To provide budget and reporting assistance to offices within Enrollment Management. Under the direction of the Vice President of Enrollment Management, the Budget Analyst I, works in a collaborative environment in support of the division of Enrollment Management’s budgeting and planning activities. Primary responsibilities include processing of budget-related transactions, development and preparation of analytical reports, timely and accurate review and analysis of revenue and expense budgets, and communication of budget-related matters to members of the division.
Major Responsibilities/Duties/Critical Tasks
- Prepare, process and monitor budget transactions throughout the year.
- Reconcile federal, state, and institutional accounts for financial aid and scholarships
- Account reconciliation of departmental accounts for enrollment management offices
- Compilation of data in response to special information requests from the university administration, The University of Texas System, and state agencies.
- Monitor budget unit spending, identifying variances to ensure expenditures do not exceed available resources.
- Contribute to consistent process improvement efforts to include collaborating with team members in identifying opportunities to improve budget cycle effectiveness and efficiency.
- Assist in the implementation of business process changes to improve planning, monitoring, forecasting, and reporting capabilities.
- Create and run queries to provide financial- and budget-related information.
- Assist with the year-end accounting close and the related end-of-year balance processing.
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree with major in accounting or business.
- Or equivalent experience in budget preparation, financial analysis and reporting or other closely related field.
Preferred Education/Experience
- Master of Business Administration degree.
- Two years of experience within The University of Texas system or other four-year Texas college or university.
- Experience with computer input equipment.
- Peoplesoft experience.

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
