What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Medicine Faculty (without OB) position at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley?
The Primary & Community Care Integrated Service Unit (ISU), Division of Primary & Preventive Care, is seeking a full-time Physician for a medical school affiliated Family Medicine clinical practice located in the Rio Grande Valley. The faculty member is expected to maintain an outpatient clinical practice that may include supervision of residents and advanced practitioners, as well as teaching of medical students. Academic rank will be awarded commensurate with academic experience and credentials.
Minimum Qualifications
Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine, possess / able to obtain a valid Texas medical license, and qualified to hold a faculty appointment in the Department of Primary & Community Care. Demonstration of ability in educational and evaluation methods. Experience in managing diverse relationships and integration activities with medical staff and a strong reputation for sustained inclusive, trust-based physician relations.
Discipline Specific Required Qualifications
Three (3) years of experience in outstanding clinical practice, preferably in an academic setting with demonstration of strong leadership skills, and success in teaching residents and medical students. Bilingual / Medical Spanish is preferred but not required.
