Scope of Job
To provide professional oversight and administrative skills and abilities for overall coordination and supervision of student testing programs.
Description of Duties
- Supervises testing specialists, test personnel and works with director to oversee all aspects of weekly testing.
- Administers, proctors and scores tests, while accommodating any special needs.
- Receives, inventories and returns dated testing material in a timely manner and reconciles discrepancies.
- Ensures confidential material is stored securely.
- Supervises the overall administration of testing programs, including the coordination of staff activities, facilities and materials.
- Supervises arrangements for multiple administration of national testing programs in which the institution participates (SAT, ACT, GRE, LSAT, MCAT TExES, etc.).
- Consults with the director and representative of various national testing companies (ACT, SAT, ETS, Pearson/VUE) concerning testing master center forms and contracts.
- Keeps current on UTRGV testing policies (admissions, placement, departmental, post-graduate) and maintains an inventory commensurate to its testing population.
- Organizes and secures all room reservations and activities for testing related to the master center forms.
- Stays up to date on all certification exams required by testing companies for administering WebEx seminars.
- Recruits and coordinates personnel needed for Saturday examinations as per national and state testing company guidelines, and ensures payment is made.
- Gathers and creates statistical summaries and periodic reports as required for all testing areas: CBT, Saturday testing, paper-pencil and outreach activities.
- Provides overall supervision of the activities of the Saturday and weekday testing programs which include supervision of 30-50 Saturday proctors and the management of large groups of 300-700 students in multiple buildings (Engineering, MAGC, Science and EDCC) at UTRGV.
- Prepares all needed reports, paperwork and vouchers.
- Ensures completeness and accuracy of all test-date documentation (rosters, seating, diagrams, reports).
- Performs routine checks of all testing facilities to guarantee successful testing administration so as to maintain security and confidentiality.
- Responsible for networking and consulting with UTRGV personnel concerning issues of student testing, placement, credits and calendar testing dates while maintaining confidentiality.
- Implements and ensures departmental adherence of testing manuals and policies from multiple sources.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
Preferred Education
Bilingual (English and Spanish).
Licenses/Certifications
None.
Required Experience
Three (3) years experience working with student related programs, teaching, or experience in scoring, reporting and evaluating educational paper/pencil tests and/or computerized tests in a testing environment.
Preferred Experience
Test center administrator (TCA) supervisory experience in hiring testing proctors and completing payment vouchers for proctors.
Equipment
Use of standard office equipment. Knowledge of computational, data processing and machine scoring capabilities of computer systems, and biometric security equipment.
Working Conditions
Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Office Environment; some travel and constant weekend/evening work is required.

Work performed on multiple projects concurrently, under pressure of rigid deadlines and time limitations. Ability to interact in a professional manner with faculty, staff, students and the public. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical and procedures, and other professionally related documents. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures. Ability to effectively write information and respond to questions from group of students, supervisors and the general public as necessary.
