The University of Toledo Department of Theatre and Film seeks to hire a Lecturer in Technical Direction & Theatre Technology to begin August 2025. This is a 9-month teaching position with teaching and practical duties. Teaching duties: Theatre Technology I & II, Intro to Theatre, and courses in expertise areas. Must mentor students working on independent projects in theatre technology.
Responsibilities Include
Education: MFA or MA in Theatre with significant professional experience as a Technical Director & in Theatre and/or Entertainment

- Producing technical drawings for Scenery & Lighting/Sound
- Determining construction materials & supplies
- Overseeing construction & Production budgets
- Hiring, supervising & mentoring students in drafting, construction & theatre technology both in the
- Constructing & installation of scenery, lighting & sound
- Mentoring student workers in all areas of theatre technology
- Incorporating safety regulations into theatre technology curriculum
- Organizing and maintaining working theatre spaces.
