Job Description

Responsible and accountable for observation of all monitors in the central monitoring station, this includes 3 A-B-C-D, 4AB, 4CD, 5AB, 5CD, 6AB, 6CD; MICU, reporting any abnormalities, obtaining, routing, documenting, and accurately defining rhythm strips. Performs ECG tests on patients as assigned.

Qualifications/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Indicate minimum required to qualify or perform this job.)

Required Education/Experience/Licensing

  • HSD or equivalent with completion of formal cardiac rhythm identification training including EMT, Paramedic, LPN, or
  • Completed one year of the associate degree program in cardiovascular technology or have a minimum of 1 year experience in performing EKGs with the ability to recognize arrhythmias and/ or Telemetry Monitoring experience.
  • Successfully completes an arrhythmia test, with a 80% overall including 100% on the fatal arrhythmia section.
  • Preferred experience with EKGs and arrythmia identification
  • BLS Certification
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours
  • Physical requirements:
  • visual acuity of 20/20 or corrected to 20/20 including color vision when applicable;
  • ability to hear (with or without aides)
  • ability to orally communicate
  • good manual dexterity
  • ability to push, pull, roll, and transfer/lift 30 pounds occasionally
  • ability to stand, walk frequently
  • ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel frequently; and
  • ability to perform CPR (if a required for position).
