Job Summary :
The Collection Services Librarian is responsible for managing and maintaining bibliographic and other metadata records, databases, and collections in print, digital, and other formats; managing and performing interlibrary loan functions; and serving as systems specialist for the Alma integrated library system.
Essential Functions (Responsibilities) :
- Catalogs and creates metadata for library resources in all formats (digital, print, and other formats) for the MLIC collections by adding records to the integrated library system, Digital Commons, or other system platforms using applicable metadata standards (US Format for Bibliographic Records, US Format for MARC Holdings, Library of Congress Classification and Subject Headings, EAD, etc.);
- Manages discoverability of all electronic and print resources using integrated library system and Springshare products;
- Manages all archival and special collections, utilizing national standards;
- Performs and manages interlibrary loan duties;
- Drafts policies and procedures;
- Assists with integrated library system administration and troubleshooting of e-resources;
- Leads projects for Collection Services;
- Assists with research services, as needed;
- Supervises student workers or other staff assigned to Collection Services tasks, as needed;
- Performs related responsibilities as required or assigned.
