What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laboratory Assistant - Lab-Admin position at The University of Vermont Health Network?
Secondary shift hours : 0600-1000

GENERAL SUMMARY :
Performs specialized, non-testing procedures in support of the various Laboratory sections. Will work directly with patients performing phlebotomy duties and EKG's. Consults with licensed laboratory staff regarding technical questions. AHA-BLS certification is required however, certification is not a qualifying factor to obtain the position. Some assignments will require travel to offsite locations and local nursing homes.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Education / Skills Required :
1. A high school diploma or GED is required.
2. Experience with Microsoft Office products and data entry programs is preferred.
3. Demonstrated effective communication skills both written and verbal required to meet regulatory agencies requirements.
4. Previous Laboratory or Healthcare experience is preferred.
5. Must meet phlebotomy certification eligibility within one (1) year of hire.
6. AHA-BLS is required within 6 months of hire or a current non-AHA-BLS card will be honored up to date of renewal.
