Assistant/Associate/Professor Cardiac Anesthesiologist

The Department of Anesthesiology at The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at The University of Vermont /University of Vermont Medical Center, in affiliation with the University of Vermont Medical Group, is seeking a Board certified or Board eligible Attending Anesthesiologist with fellowship training in Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesia. This position is a mix of all types of anesthesia including Cardiothoracic Anesthesia, pediatrics (older than 3), neurosurgery, and obstetrics. This is a full-time clinical scholar pathway faculty position at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level based at the University of Vermont Medical Center. The ideal candidate has an interest in supporting our teaching, research, clinical and administrative missions. Cardiothoracic surgeries provided at our institution include all range of cardiothoracic cases excluding transplant and mechanical support device placements.

Provide clinical anesthesiology care to patients as directed by Department Chair or delegate including main Operating Rooms and ambulatory areas. Will be mix of solo and supervision of Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs), Anesthesiology Assistants (CAAs) and residents as appropriate.

UVMMC is a busy academic hospital with a Level-1 trauma center and we are the only location for tertiary referrals for the catchment area of Vermont and northern upstate New York for all surgeries. We have a large collegial department that consists of Anesthesiologists, Nurse Anesthetists, Anesthesiologist Assistants, a residency program, a pain fellowship and nurse practitioners.
