The Department of Radiology of The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at the University of Vermont (UVM) is seeking a 1.0 FTE Clinical Academic Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging radiologist for a full-time faculty appointment on the Clinical Scholar Pathway at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor. Applicants must have completed an ACGME accredited residency program and must be ABR or ABNM certified or eligible. The position is 1.0 FTE faculty member working in PET / CT, diagnostic, cardiac and therapeutic nuclear medicine. Experience with therapies such as Lutathera, Pluvicto, Xofigo, I-131 is required. Expertise in abdominal and pelvic imaging is a plus.

The compensation package is competitive and faculty rank is commensurate with experience. The University of Vermont Medical Group offers loan repayment assistance.

The ideal candidate will have the qualifications and desire to cover either general diagnostic radiology, including fluoroscopy, or advanced imaging (CT and MRI) call. There are approximately 6 weeks per year of call with tele-radiology from home plus weekend day shifts. There will be global health opportunities for the right candidate that could encompass clinical, research, or educational aspects.

Ours is an academic practice of 44 full and part-time radiologists who serve as the clinical faculty for a 24-member ACGME-approved Diagnostic Radiology residency program at the University of Vermont. Responsibilities include medical student, resident and fellow teaching, as well as transdisciplinary conferences. Faculty enjoy a collegial environment within the department as well as across the medical group.

The Department of Radiology facilities are state-of-the-art with two clinical 3.0 Tesla Magnets and four 1.5 Tesla magnets. CT includes two Brilliance ICT 256-slice scanners in close proximity to the Emergency Department, three 128-slice scanners, one 64-slice scanner and a spectral CT planned for 2023. The department has a dedicated 3D lab with the latest processing software. In addition, we have a state-of-the-art Vereos PET CT. Visage PACS and PowerScribe One solutions for onsite and at home work.

The Nuclear Molecular Medicine performs a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.. In addition to two digital PET / CT systems, there are 2 SPECT-CT cameras, 2 cardiac SPECT camera with CT attenuation correction, two general-purpose cameras including a portable system.

The University of Vermont Medical Center is the only tertiary referral center and Level 1 Trauma Center for the catchment area of Vermont and Northern Upstate New York. The Network Department of Radiology is part of the larger University of Vermont Health Network in Northern Vermont and New York, comprised of 6 smaller hospitals in addition to the University of Vermont Medical Center.
