Job Description
The Sleep Technician Trainee is supervised during the training period with the completion of electrodiagnostic and polysomnographic testing including, but not limited to, EEG, portables, CPAP titration, etc. as ordered by physicians according to established protocols and national ASET & APT guidelines. At approved points in their training, the technician may begin to perform the tests independently. The technician has a working knowledge of functional neuroanatomy and neurophysiology as well as the respiratory system and medication effects on sleep/sleep patterns and/or EEG background and waveforms.
Education
Associates of Science degree and/or 3-5 years of directly relevant patient care experience required.
Experience
Health care background strongly preferred.
