The University of Vermont's Department of Biology in The College of Arts & Sciences invites applications for a full-time Lecturer, at no less than .75 FTE , in Neuroscience to join our nationally recognized and award-winning faculty. The position is for Academic Year 2025-26, with anticipated renewal. We are looking for candidates with a passion for teaching and effective communication in the classroom. Applicants will be expected to teach a variety of courses in Neuroscience and Biology from the introductory to the advanced level.

Qualifications : The successful candidate should :

  • Hold a Ph.D. degree in Neuroscience, Biology, Biochemistry, or in a related discipline;
  • Have independent teaching experience and / or pedagogical training;
  • Have the capacity to teach undergraduate courses at all levels ranging from general biology, genetics, cell biology, to advanced topics in these disciplines

Responsibilities : The successful candidate will assume responsibilities that include :

  • Teaching, and in some cases, advising in the department's undergraduate programs
  • Collaborating with Department of Biology faculty and staff in departmental governance and program development
  • Professional Development, including conference and workshop attendance

    The Department The UVM Biology Department is a broad, basic science department whose faculty members' research spans a range of core disciplines including biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, neuroscience, ecology and evolution. The Department of Biology is composed of award-winning faculty, stimulating coursework, and inspired students who are training to answer some of our world's biggest questions. We know that hands-on experience is the key to learning, so our department is devoted to providing interactive opportunities to apply coursework in real-life, real-time settings.
