Job Overview:
The University of Virginia's College at Wise is looking for an energetic and positive individual to join our team as a Student Account Support Specialist. This role requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team. As a key point of contact for students, parents, faculty, and staff, you will assist with account payments, deposits, and financial inquiries while providing outstanding support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service to students, parents, faculty, and staff
- Assist with account payments, deposits, and financial inquiries
- Maintain accurate records and spreadsheets
- Work with UVA WISE Foundation for Cash and Gift Deposits
- Reconciliation of accounts · Assist with mailing student account statements
- Prepare and set up files for the new fiscal year
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Basic accounting or cashiering experience preferred (training provided)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and willingness to learn internal systems
- Positive attitude and ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience required
