SUMMARY Overview of the position
Are you an avid sports fan with a passion for photography? Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced, creative environment? The Photo Editor (Sports) position is responsible for sourcing, selecting, cropping, and placing analog and / or digital images for Upper Deck’s award-winning sports card products. Additional tasks include editing and labeling photography received from Upper Deck photographers, maintenance of the image library database, scanning artwork or reflective art, and intermittent color correction. Occasional assistance with photo shoot events and archival review of institutional or personal collections may also be required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The following statements are intended to describe the general nature of the level of work being performed by an individual assigned to this job. Other duties may be assigned.
- Proficient at editing, correcting, and optimizing images for high quality print publication.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the NHL (other sports and Entertainment is also beneficial).
- Support and adhere to internal Photo Department procedures and guidelines.
Assist in maintaining the Sports Image Database as needed. Image assets need to be organized, inventoried, and accessible in a concise and efficient manner. The ability to identify, differentiate and categorize images depending on end usage is essential.
INTERACTION
This position will interact closely with the Photo Manager, other Photo Editors, Production Artists and related team members. Professional and effective communication with supervisors and other departments, using both written and verbal skills is required.
