The UPS Store is an industry leader with over 5000 locations nationwide, making it the largest pack, ship, and print retailer in the nation. Located in the Innsbrook at Glen Allen, locally owned and operated, we're hiring retail sales associate to help us keep growing.
Note: The UPS Stores are independently owned and operated. This is not UPS Corporate position. It is a retail sales position, NOT a warehouse or corporate position.
The Retail Sales Associate or Lead Sales Associate (Shipping, Packing & Print Associate)position is responsible for delivering world class customer service to all of our customers, as well other assigned tasks around the center as needed. Tasks include:
- Receiving and processing packages for shipment.
- Receiving and processing of incoming mail/packages for mailbox customers.
- Operation of center equipment such as copiers, faxes, binding equipment, lamination equipment, and point-of-sale terminals (cash registers).
- Expert customer service, including providing shipment assistance/advice.
Requirements:
- At least have high school diploma or equivalent
- Fluent English-reading, speaking and writing skills
- Minimum 1-2 years previous retail customer service/sales experience
- Friendly outgoing attitude, fast learner, with attention to detail a must.
- Prompt, reliable, and responsible
- Strong communication - verbal/written and phone skills, including strong spelling and math skills
- Strong computer skills (including Microsoft Office, Adobe, Emails, Internet etc.)
- Familiarity with POS /cash register systems, copiers, scanners, and fax machine
- Able to lift 40 lbs on a regular basis as needed. Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Manual hand dexterity to operate POS, copiers, complete customer paperwork and properly pack and ship customer shipments
- Must have valid driver license and reliable transportation
- Availability and willingness to work a flexible schedule with availability some weekends. Schedules are generally made one month in advance to allow associates to plan accordingly and make scheduling requests.
Preferred:
- 1 to 2 years retail shipping store experience (UPS Store, FedEx, PostNet, etc.)
- Document services experience (Staples, FedEx, OfficeMax, etc.)
- Graphics design skillset (Adobe and Publisher applications etc.)
- Packing and Shipping experience (UPS, FedEx, USPS etc.)
- Ability to up-sell and cross-sell
- General Sales and Marketing experience a plus!
- Ability and willingness to become a Virginia Notary. Notary training will be provided
Store Hours of Operation:
Mon-Fri 8:00am - 7.00pm, Sat 9.00am - 5.00pm, Sun 10.00am - 3.00pm
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
