The Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in the day-to-day store activities that, includes but is not limited, to management duties in absence of manager, primarily from 3pm to close. The incumbent is also responsible for the sales of print, shipping and associated items. The incumbent shall provide high quality of customer service to all customers and have the ability to speak about the products and services we provide. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Acts as onsite management during the times that the manager is not in the store. 2. Assists the Store Manager in training, development and leadership of sales associates. 3. Gives support to the store manager by keeping the store in compliance with corporate and management guidelines. 4. Complete all training actions in Learning Center for the manager position and continuously learn the manager position responsibilities. 5. Facilitate the sale of our products and services, primarily print, shipping, packaging supplies and services. 6. Coordinate daily customer service operations (e.g. sales processes, orders and payments) 7. Communicate with clients and evaluate their needs. 8. Identify Corporate Retail Service (CRS) clients and provide quality customer service. 9. Maintain a clean and serviceable store at all times. 10. Acknowledge all customers that enter the store, identify their needs via questions and respond to their needs through actions. This may include but, not limited to, shipping and drop off services, packaging services, mailbox services, faxing services, email services, sale of printing services and all other needs that the customer may identify. 11. Qualifications Qualifications include: Education / Experience: High School / G.E.D. required is required; Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Printing Technology or related is preferred. Experience: One to three years in Business, Retail Sales, Printing Technology or related field is preferred. 2 Skills / Abilities: o Excellent Customer Service skills; o Leadership Skills; o Training/Coaching Skills; o Organizational skills; o Must possess excellent writing, computer, and communication skills; must possess experience in Microsoft Office software and the ability to learn other software programs currently in use; o Good math skills with the ability to create and analyze reports, spreadsheets and sales statistics; o Ability to speak, read, and write English; o Able to work autonomously; o Analytical and problem-solving skills; o Ability to follow oral and written instructions; o Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with coworkers, customers and the general public; o Demonstrates emotional maturity and good judgment; o Ability to handle stressful situations. Training requirements and timelines: o Must complete the Learning Center on-line Certified Operator Training within one (1) year; o Must complete the Print Certification within one (1) year; o Must be able to qualify for, acquire and maintain a Notary License. Other Qualifications and Characteristics o Must not have a history of disqualifying criminal convictions and must pass all required background checks; o Must be honest, trustworthy, loyal and possess an outgoing personality. Working conditions Office environment. May be exposed to or interact with dangerous persons and/or with communicable disease. May include evening, weekend work and/or nontraditional work schedule. o Flexible work schedule Physical requirements May involve lifting up to 50 pounds. Will involve standing for extended periods of time, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting, stooping and going up and down stairs in the performance of daily activities.
