What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cashier/Sales Associate position at The UPS Store?
Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Operate cash registers and handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently
- Process sales transactions, returns, and exchanges using the point-of-sale (POS) system
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area
- Answer customer questions and provide product information
- Promote upselling and cross-selling of products to maximize sales
- Assist with inventory management, including restocking shelves and monitoring stock levels
- Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and provide excellent customer service
Experience:
- Previous experience in cash handling and sales is preferred
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with customers and team members
- Proven ability to upsell products and meet sales targets
- Familiarity with technology sales, such as electronics or mobile devices, is a plus
- Experience in jewelry sales is a plus
- Proficiency in using point-of-sale (POS) systems to process transactions accurately
- Retail sales experience is preferred
Skills:
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to resolve customer complaints or issues in a professional manner
- Multilingual skills are a plus, as it allows for effective communication with diverse customers
- Strong phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or taking orders
