Job Summary:
The Store Associate at The UPS Store is responsible for delivering outstanding customer service, handling sales transactions, and providing assistance with various services offered by the store. The role involves helping customers with packaging, shipping, printing, and other solutions, all while maintaining a positive and professional attitude. Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service.
- Assist customers with questions regarding UPS Store services, including shipping, printing, and mailbox rentals.
- Resolve customer inquiries and complaints professionally.
Sales & Transactions
- Process customer transactions accurately, including handling cash, credit, and other payment methods.
- Promote and explain store services to customers to help them find the best solutions for their needs.
- Inform customers of store promotions and upsell services when appropriate.
Shipping & Packaging
- Assist customers in selecting appropriate packaging and shipping options.
- Pack items securely and ensure proper labeling for shipment.
- Operate and maintain store equipment used in packaging and shipping.
Print & Copy Services
- Help customers with print, copy, and other document services.
- Operate printing, faxing, and scanning equipment, ensuring accurate output.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of the print area.
Mail and Parcel Management
- Manage mailbox rentals and assist customers with mail and parcel pickups.
- Ensure accurate handling of customer mail and package organization.
- Notify customers of package arrivals when applicable.
Store Maintenance
- Ensure the store is well-organized, clean, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Assist in daily opening and closing tasks as required.
- Follow safety and security protocols within the store.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with POS systems and office software.
- Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus.
- Ability to lift and carry packages up to a specified weight (e.g., 50 lbs.).
Additional Skills:
- A minimum of 3 months of experience with UPS or FedEx or DHL is an advantage for this position
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
