A Day In The Life
- System Maintenance & Support:
- Monitor and maintain system performance to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Perform regular updates, patches, and monitor backups to optimize security and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues, including urgent after-hours events such as internet outages, vendor support requests, and critical updates.
- End User Support:
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access across various systems and applications.
- Provide high-touch, white-glove technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Network & Security:
- Assist with configuring and managing network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Implement security measures to protect systems and data from unauthorized access and threats.
- Conduct system audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting processes.
- Prepare and present reports on system performance, incidents, and resolutions.
- Collaboration & Learning:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including the Software Development team, to implement and support new technologies.
- Manage projects efficiently, ensuring clear communication and collaboration to meet goals.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
- Serve as an escalation point and mentor for IT Specialists while contributing strategic insights to guide the organization’s technology infrastructure.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- 5 years of experience in IT systems management, including SaaS administration (e.g., MS Admin Center, Meraki), system configuration (server/cloud and end-user), and maintenance.
- Expertise in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and incident response, with a focus on minimizing downtime.
- Experience in AWS Cloud Services, O365 administration, and information security.
- A talent for solving problems and identifying areas for improvement in processes and systems.
- Excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in documentation and system performance.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-focused mindset.
- Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple ongoing projects simultaneously.
- A team-oriented approach with a willingness to adapt and support others to achieve success.
- A Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field of study
- Advanced knowledge of Windows Server, Mac, Chrome, and Linux operating systems.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
- Familiarity with infrastructure management tools such as Microsoft Admin Center, Cisco Meraki, and Mimecast.
- Knowledge of backup strategies, ERP troubleshooting, and project management.
- Demonstrated thought leadership in driving solutions and improving IT systems.
