Virginia Oncology Associates, the largest group of medical professionals in Hampton Roads and Northeast North Carolina devoted exclusively to cancer care and blood disorders, has an exciting opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our office(s) located in Virginia Beach and Norfolk.

- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for oncology patients in an outpatient setting
- Initiate and document appropriate interventions
- Evaluate and record patient and family response within practice protocol
- Prescribes drug therapies per protocol/physician consultation
- Assess patient and family needs and provides education
- Promotes/provides staff education
- Serve as a liaison between inpatient, skilled nursing, and home setting
- Incorporates evidence-based research into clinical practice
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program for nursing education and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program or successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Post Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant hematology/oncology experience is preferred
- Experience and knowledge in the management of the physiological and psychological effects of cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment
- RN State License and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state, along with current state certification of Nurse Practitioner or current state license as a Physician Assistant
- Current CPR certification required
- Must be willing to travel to the various practice locations
