What are the responsibilities and job description for the Breast Surgeon - WVCI Eugene position at The US Oncology Network?
Overview
Willamette Valley Cancer Institute (WVCI) is currently seeking a breast surgeon to join our growing practice located in Eugene, Oregon. Candidates should be Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery or equivalent with fellowship training in Breast Surgical Oncology or Surgical Oncology. This physician would join two well established breast surgeons in a comprehensive cancer practice that also includes 15 Medical Oncologists, 4 Radiation Oncologists, 4 Gynecologic Oncologists and 14 Advanced Practice Providers. The practice will encompass all aspects of breast surgery including benign and malignant disease. No general or trauma surgery call is required, breast surgery call is shared among the other two breast surgeons on our team. Support services include a robust genetic cancer risk assessment program, physical therapy and lymphedema services and certified nurse navigation. The role also includes participation in a multi-disciplinary care team and tumor board, including surgeons, radiologists, plastic surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and a breast pathologist. Most of the breast surgical cases will be done in a highly efficient outpatient surgery center complete with state-of-the-art equipment including wireless locator capabilities and intraoperative ultrasound. The ideal candidate has outstanding training in breast surgery and a passion for delivering patient centered care in an innovative and holistic breast oncology program.
