Classroom Paraprofessional
The Valley Day School, a top suburban approved private school for students with behavioral and emotional issues, is in immediate need of a Classroom Paraprofessional for the remainder of the 2023-2024 academic year.
VDS is a comprehensive K-12 educational day program based at a 10.4-acre suburban campus in Lower Bucks County. This location allows us to provide programs and placements for students referred by public school districts in southeastern Pennsylvania and school districts located in neighboring New Jersey. The school provides specially designed instruction for students between the ages of 4 and 21 years of age who have been identified to need behavioral and emotional support. VDS is recognized as a leader in the application of Trauma-Informed Care and the use of technology in special education, including the first 3-D holographic computer lab in southeast Pennsylvania and the first in the nation, interactive playground.
Basic Duties :
- Responsible for co-facilitating weekly morning meeting groups within the classroom setting.
- Paraprofessional is responsible for collecting and submitting behavioral point sheets, lunch selections, and other classroom data collection as needed.
- The Paraprofessional works closely with the Classroom Teacher to provide behavioral structure and instructional support during lessons within the classroom setting.
- Training in Valley Day practices and procedures provided as well as ongoing professional development .
