Job Description:
The Anesthesia Technician is a crucial member of the healthcare team, working under the supervision of an Anesthesiologist, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), or Registered Nurse. Key Responsibilities include providing safe and effective cleaning of all equipment, adhering to safety and infection control standards.
Assumes responsibility for ordering and preparing supplies and equipment as needed by the Anesthesiologist for surgical procedures. Observes Universal Precautions and ensures adherence to Standards of Care. Patient age range: neonate to geriatric.
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: Minimum two years in anesthesia or critical care background.
- Technical Skills: Ability to operate or learn to operate equipment used in performing job responsibilities.
- License/Certification: Certification as Anesthesia Technician by the American Society of Anesthesia Technicians and Technologists; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Other: Proficiency in using a PC for billing, QI entry, and inventory management.
