Reporting to the Laboratory Medical Director(s), you will ensure high-quality, reliable patient testing while managing a skilled and dedicated laboratory team. Key Responsibilities:
- Direct day-to-day laboratory operations, ensuring quality systems across all phases of testing (preanalytic, analytic, and postanalytic).
- Foster a safe and compliant laboratory environment, meeting physical, chemical, and biohazard safety standards.
- Supervise and support staff, promoting growth, accountability, and effective performance.
- Lead quality systems initiatives, including error monitoring and corrective actions.
- Cultivate positive relationships with team members, physicians, and administrative leaders.
- Manage recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and compliance with clinic policies.
Qualifications:
- Education: MLS or MT with a Master's Degree required (obtain within 12 months); or PhD considered*.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years as a Laboratory Manager in a high-complexity testing lab; expertise in QC/QA, regulatory compliance.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to evaluate performance and implement change effectively.
- Valid driver's license required.
- PhD consideration: Hold an earned doctoral degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical lab science from an accredited institution AND be certified and continue to be certified by a board-approved by HHS; OR before February 24, 2003, must have served or be serving as a director of a lab performing high complexity testing and must have at least two years of lab training or experience, or both; AND two years of laboratory experience directing or supervising high complexity testing.
Pay Range:
$135,149.00 - $202,723.00

Benefits-eligible employees accrue PTO and Personal Time based on hours worked and State worked, totaling 120 hours in the first year for full time staff and 200 hours in the first year for full time supervisors and above, increasing in subsequent years. PTO and Personal Time accruals are pro-rated by FTE/hours worked. Non-benefits eligible employees will accrue Personal Time based on hours worked and State worked.
