Job Overview
La Serre inside The Vanguard Hotel is seeking a friendly and organized Host/Host to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests, managing reservations, and ensuring that all guests receive exceptional service from the moment they arrive until they leave. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for hospitality.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and guide them to their tables.
• Manage reservations and maintain an organized seating chart to optimize the flow of guests.
• Assist with guest inquiries and provide information about the menu, specials, and restaurant policies.
• Ensure that all dining areas are clean and well-maintained.
• Collaborate with the waitstaff to ensure timely service and guest satisfaction.
• Handle guest complaints or concerns with professionalism and empathy.
• Utilize POS systems to assist with order entry and payment processing as needed.
• Maintain phone etiquette when answering calls for reservations or inquiries.

Requirements

• Previous experience in guest services or hospitality is preferred.
• Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest relations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Familiarity with food service operations is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Knowledge of POS systems is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided.
