Job Title: Upper Elementary Content Instructor (Math/Reading)
Reports to: Elementary Principal
FLSA Status: Exempt
Normal Work Hours: 40 hours per week
Annual Days: 196
Salary: $36,000, merit pay for returning staff

General Purpose: The Upper Elementary Content Instructor (Math/Reading)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Subject matter knowledge
- Effectively plan and implement lessons with fidelity to approved existing curriculum
- Teach up to four math and/or reading classes each day
- Provide quick and consistent feedback via graded assignments
- Maintain up-to-date electronic gradebook using Infinite Campus
- Manage classroom climate and operation
- Deliver effective instruction that promotes achievement
- Meet professional responsibilities
- Model and support students in developing virtuous character
- Support the school’s mission through fidelity to policies and practices
- Create a positive culture of inquiry and learning
- Communicate with parents in a proactive and professional manner
- Consistently implement accommodations and modifications for children on plans as specified the plan
- Monitor up to two carlines and two recesses or a lunch each day
Other Duties and Responsibilities: As needed or assigned.

- Serve as a resource for building staff, administrators, and parents in working with students and creating a positive school climate.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with students, staff, and families
- Model the school’s values and standards for professional behavior.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Successfully pass the PRAXIS 5901 series within 90 days of hire
