This position requires a strong understanding of healthcare billing practices and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to optimize revenue flow.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full revenue cycle process from patient registration to final payment.
- Verify patient insurance information and ensure accurate coding for claims submission.
- Review and resolve billing discrepancies and denials in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure documentation meets compliance standards.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies, ensuring adherence to payer guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions and communications related to billing.
- Experience in posting payments.
Experience
- Previous experience in healthcare revenue cycle management or medical billing is required.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software. (Nextgen)
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for identifying discrepancies.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with patients and staff.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
