Your Role as a Procedure Team Medical Assistant
- As part of our dynamic procedure team, you’ll have the exciting opportunity to travel between three different locations, Kingsport, Johnson City, & Abingdon VA — bringing your skills, energy, and expertise wherever they’re needed most.
- Assisting with procedural preparation, including patient readiness and ensuring the room is fully equipped.
- Opening sterile instruments with precision and adherence to protocol.
- Retrieving necessary tools, medications, and supplies efficiently to support clinical procedures.
- Maintaining the integrity of the sterile field throughout each procedure.
- Ensuring supplies are consistently stocked and organized in preparation for upcoming cases.
- Providing post-operative support to help patients transition comfortably and confidently.

- Assisting with surgical consents, procedural time-outs, and verifying all pre-procedure requirements are met.
- Offering PRN (as-needed) support to the nursing team during clinic days.
- Adhering to Universal Precautions, practicing excellent hand hygiene, and maintaining a safe, clean clinical environment.
- You excel at building and maintaining positive relationships with patients, families, colleagues, and the broader community, all while consistently delivering exceptional customer service.
- You are fluent in medical terminology and demonstrate proficiency in navigating electronic medical records (EMRs).
- You possess a thorough understanding of organizational policies and procedures and consistently adhere to them with integrity.
- You are a skilled problem solver with strong critical thinking abilities, sound judgment, and effective planning capabilities.
- You remain composed and focused under pressure, maintaining professionalism in high-stress situations.

EDUCATION:
- Current documentation of a National Certification for the Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant preferred (CMA).
EXPERIENCE:
- 2 years of medical/surgical experience is preferred, but a less qualified candidate may be considered.
Job Type:
- Full Time – 40 Hours a week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday- 8-430 pm
Pay:
- $17.50 - $23.00 per hour
