Position Overview :
The primary responsibility of the Cocktail Server - Lounge is to provide an elevated guest experience in an upscale resort by delivering exceptional beverage service to all guests.
All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
Efficiently and accurately takes and delivers beverage orders in a timely manner.
Provide an elevated experience to all guests, proactively seek guest service opportunities, and has excellent interpersonal skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
Manage multiple tasks, works well under pressure, and remains calm in fast paced environment.
Manage all financial transactions accurately and effectively during shifts.
Ensure that all orders are accurate and delivered to each table in a timely manner.
Collaborate with bartenders to ensure accuracy of order.
Maintain knowledge of house drinks and menu items.
Offer item suggestions selling techniques (e.g., daily beverage specials, cocktails / wines and after dinner beverages).
Effectively drives initiatives to meet financial goals by recognizing opportunities to up-sell.
Ensure the workplace environment is maintained and clean.
Provide accurate directions and information for guests and is knowledgeable about all of The Venetian Resort’s services, features, attractions, promotions, and special events.
Safety is an essential function of this job.

All The Venetian Resort Team Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times. Team Members are required to observe the Company’s standards, work requirements and rules of conduct.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities :
21 years of age.
Proof of authorization / eligibility to work in the United States.
High school Diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Health card, Alcohol Awareness (TAM) card, and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
Three (3) years cocktail service experience in a high-volume cash handling setting required.
Knowledge of beverages, including types of high-end wine / champagne by the glass, liquor brand, beer, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, terminology, and garnishment.
Must be familiar with customer ordering practices for beers, wines, and spirits.
Minimum Qualifications :
Understand how to operate the POS system. Handles all transactions (including but not limited to suite charges, cash, credit card, comps) accurately and efficiently.
Must possess superior customer service skills.
Confidence working in a guest facing role in an upscale resort.
Maintain a professional, well-groomed appearance, posture, and hygiene in accordance with company standards.
Previous experience at a pool or nightclub preferred.
Must have the ability to speak and to listen in a public forum, basic math skills are required, and ability to handle cash and accurately make change.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements :
Must be able to :
Lift or carry 10 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without reasonable accommodation.
Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend, and kneel .
Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
