Lab Technician (Part Time)
Non- Exempt (Hourly/Part-time)
Reports to: Manufacturing Manager
Collaborates With: Lab Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Operations manufacturing staff, Dry/Cure Associates, Quality Control Manager, Packaging Manager
Job Summary: The Lab Technician is responsible for extracting cannabis oil for all Verdes operations. This position also collaborates with manufacturing to produce Verdes lab products including cartridges, tinctures, and beverages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Extractions:
- Produces cannabis distillate and full spectrum oils for use in Verdes products; ensures all operations teams have necessary cannabis oil inventory
- Runs all extraction lab processes including extraction, filtration, solvent recovery, and distillation
- Operates and maintains extractions equipment used for the above processes
- Documents operations including batch IDs, yields, and process parameters
- Prepares samples for NM cannabis lab potency testing and tracks results
- Observes lab safety procedures and displays strong hazard awareness and communication
- Owns housekeeping procedures like glassware cleaning, organization, sweeping/mopping, and document control
- Other duties as assigned
- Lab Products Manufacturing:
- Compounds and manufactures Verdes lab products including tinctures, cartridges, and beverages
- Collaborates with Operations team to ensure target inventory of Verdes lab products
- Maintains online and paper batch record documentation for all manufactured products
- Operates and maintains production equipment used for lab product manufacturing
- Tracks raw material and packaging supplies for lab products
- Observes safety procedures and owns housekeeping activities
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Familiarity with one or more of lab process components: compressed air, dry ice, hotplates, filtration powders, flammable solvents, temperature control, vacuum pumps, process equipment
- Acquire and maintain certification in Food Service Safety and Sanitation
- Familiarity with MSDS sheets and written SOPs
- Ability to use simple hand tools and perform basic machine maintenance
- Familiarity with Excel
- Able to perform math and algebraic equations
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Good problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills. Ability to prioritize work and make simple decisions
Preferred Education/Experience:
- Experience in a laboratory environment
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience handling food
- Associate or bachelor’s degree
Physical and Emotional Requirements:
- May be required to stand or sit for long periods of time.
- Required to wear PPE including gloves, hair net, safety glasses, lab coat, occasionally dust mask and hearing protection
- Ability to work around typical lab hazards including hot surfaces, irritants, and dry ice.
- Ability to work in work in mild adverse environmental conditions including noise and strong smell
- Repetitive Motion, Dexterity
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- May engage in frequent, bending or stooping
- Ability to work well in team-based systems; accountability, communication, reliability, and effective time management are critical.

Compensation/Hours:
Compensation - $21.23/hr DOE; required availability Mon – Fri, 7:00am to 5:30pm, some weekends and holidays, exact schedule to be determined with supervisor
