Verland is currently seeking a House Manager to join the team at our ORC House in Natrona Heights, PA. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for providing Exceptional Care to the individuals that call Verland their Home.
This role requires knowledge of current practices and regulations in the field of Developmental Disabilities, along with a thorough understanding of training principles. Under the supervision of the QIDP, the House Manager supervises the care and training delivered by the direct care staff for IDD individuals. This is a salaried, exempt position.
Contributions:
- Supervise and train the direct care staff on individuals’ needs by reviewing IPPs, risk factors, proper mealtime, bathing, and activity procedures.
- Provide orientation for new staff and participate in the training and evaluation of assigned staff.
- Provide direct support, observation, and accountability to direct care staff to ensure proper implementation of individuals’ IPP.
- Participate in the Interdisciplinary Team Process and prepare all necessary documentation for team meetings.
- Develop an activities schedule for the individuals assigned.
- Coordinate community outings with Coordinators, Nursing, and QIDPs to provide individuals in your caseload with opportunities to integrate in the community.
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the homes to ensure that daily programs and activities are conducted.
- Process incident reports according to Incident Management process.
- Monitor goal and procedural objectives implemented by direct care staff and report findings to QIDP.
- Initiate disciplinary procedures.
- Provide a safe, healthy, and clean environment for the individuals and ensure the health, safety, and emotional welfare of the individuals.
- Perform CI investigations when necessary.
- Understand and comply with the ICF regulations.
- Understand and implement requirements of union contract.
- Work as a DSP when needed.
- Perform other job duties as required to include, but not be limited to, daily participation in mealtime and personal care programs, and transporting/escorting individuals to pertinent hospital/medical appointments and activities through a hands-on approach.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, associate degree, or 60 credits from an accredited college required.
- Experience in Direct Care and in the ID/D field, with some supervisory experience preferred.
- Must have all required clearances and maintain a valid Driver’s Licenses.
