Verland is currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join the team at our Main Campus in Sewickley PA. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for providing Exceptional Care to the individuals that call Verland their Home.
Shifts available:
Full Time-36 hours
Week 1 * 6 am - 6:30 pm: Sunday / Tuesday / Wednesday
Week 2 * 6 am - 6:30 pm: Tuesday / Wednesday / Saturday
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for the nursing care of individuals under the supervision of the Director of Nursing (DON). This is an hourly, non-exempt position.
Contributions:
- Administer and document the prescribed medications and treatments.
- Assess the physical status of individuals daily and report any unusual behavior or condition to the Charge Nurse.
- Assist with physician visits as assigned.
- Document care given to individuals on a daily, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Develop and implement health care plans for assigned individuals as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) and attend any staffing and ITR reviews as a contributing member of the IDT.
- Participate in and attend Nursing Department committee meetings as assigned.
- LPN will not insert nasogastric tube or obtain physicians' orders.
- Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements
- Must possess a working knowledge of professional standards and current nursing trends.
- Must have the ability to comprehend individuals’ records and physicians’ orders and to communicate information effectively.
- Must be able to establish working relationships with other members of the IDT.
- Must be able to document individuals’ care in a comprehensive manner according to professional and legal standards.
Minimum Training and Experience:
- Must be a graduate of a recognized one-year practical nurse program and hold a current Pennsylvania registration.
- Must have at least one year of experience in an acute care facility or related field (rehabilitation, extended care facility).
- Must have all required clearances and maintain a valid driver’s license.
