Summary
This position is responsible for assisting in creating accurate and timely financial records for USA Brands. The ideal candidate will have applicable prior accounting experience, excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail and can adapt to shifting priorities as needed. This role will support a variety of accounting functions, requiring resourceful problem-solving to overcome unexpected challenges and evolving processes.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Accounts Payable Responsibilities
- Invoice coding, entry and verification of all vendor invoices and credits – including purchase orders.
- Reconciling vendor statements monthly to ensure accuracy.
- Following up with managers to obtain all necessary spending information including approvals or receipts.
- Monitor shared email to ensure all work is done accurately and in a timely manner
- Maintain vendor record files with current information, including collection of Form W-9s
- Initiating vendor payments upon approval by Controller
- Serve as primary communicator with vendors regarding invoice discrepancies or payment inquiries
OTHER DUTIES
- Reviewing expenses eligible for capitalization and maintaining fixed asset ledger.
- Categorizing & reconciling corporate credit card activity across all brands.
- Generate and maintain standard operating procedure documents for role & department tasks
- Create invoices for Corporate & Wholesale orders and oversee timely collection of payment
- Assist with identifying balances requiring accrual as part of the monthly closing process
- Cross-train in other departmental tasks as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous Accounts Payable & General Accounting experience preferred.
- Strong computer skills and experience using Microsoft Excel.
- Highly organized & detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet deadlines.
- Must be a team player with the ability to also work independently.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- Ability to pass a credit and criminal background check upon hire is required.
Education / Experience
- Bachelor degree in Accounting or the equivalent combination of experience preferred
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.53 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
