Purpose
The Housekeeper keeps all areas of the community neat, clean and in a sanitary condition. The Housekeeper should be familiar with the concept of assisted living and relate well with residents, family and team members of the community.
Status
Non-exempt. As a non-exempt position, you may from time to time be expected to work additional hours since peak load situations occasionally occur in our business. Additional hours beyond 40 in any given work week will be eligible for pay at the overtime rate.

Duties/Responsibilities
- Treat all individuals during the workday with courtesy and respect.
- Comply with all federal and state laws, including state Resident Rights law.
- Comply with all Community policies and procedures.
- Communicates with residents in a kind, respectful, and gentle manner
- Clocks in and out timely
- Maintains excellent attendance and punctuality
- Practices safety with handling chemicals and equipment
- Able to sweep, mop, and polish floors; vacuum carpets; clean restrooms; wash windows and walls; move and arrange furniture and equipment; pick up outside refuse.
- Dress in appropriate uniform and be at appointed workstation promptly when the shift starts and work consistently until the shift ends.
- Understand and carry out oral and written directions.
- Attend all facility and department in-service training.
- Can articulate the importance of HIPPA and Resident Privacy
- Demonstrate ability to clean and sanitize areas for which they are responsible (resident suites and general areas) in a manner consistent with facility policy and procedure.
- Work in cooperation with all other employees of the facility to maintain a clean and sanitary environment for both residents and team members.
- Stocks common areas, replaces light bulbs, tidies throughout the day, and remedies trip hazards
- Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to facility safety program at all times.
- Models the Mission, Values, and Principles of Service with our Residents and fellow Team Members
- Maintains training compliance
- All other assigned duties by department head or facility Administrator

Requirements
- Ability to be on one’s feet for extended periods of time.
- Ability to get around the facility, grounds and community to carry out assignments.
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 - 75 lbs.
- Ability to tolerate up and down movement including reaching above and below shoulder height.
- Communicates orally and in writing with residents, families and co-workers.
Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to cleaning equipment and materials.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- While performing the duties of the job, the employee will perform extensive up and down movement.
- The employee must be able to communicate clearly so others can easily understand their statements.
