Job Overview
The BCBA is responsible for overseeing and managing the therapeutic needs of the clients being served. This person is responsible for overseeing a caseload, therapist and consultant performance, monitoring program progress. This person will act as liaison between families and The Village ABA for child programs. The BCBA also analyzes data collected by behavioral therapists to determine if the interventions they created are effective in creating the desired behavior change for the client. If they are not, the BCBA must implement new strategies utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to bring about the desired behavior.
The BCBA will report directly to the Clinical Director but must have strong clinical experience and perspective on Applied Behavior Analysis and how it relates to individuals with autism.
Job Description
- Will work directly as well as supervise clients, as needed per client’s individual treatment plan
- Utilizes the principles of ABA, including reinforcement, prompting and fading, shaping, chaining, maintenance and generalization, extinction and punishment (including DTT, NET, FBA, and other behavior analytical procedures as needed) to develops, updates, and analyzes goals and data in collaboration with program supervisor
- Responsible for intervention planning and implementation of clinical cases and develops behavioral strategies that also assist the parent or guardian in implementing the behavior plan.
- Conducts, writes and reports initial assessments and 6-month progress reports in a timely manner
- Assembles all client program materials and/or delegates the management of assembling of client program materials to lead therapist.
- Tracks and ensures compliance regarding legal, ethical, and safety issues including working with families and vulnerable populations. Maintains respect and confidentiality for all clients and acts in compliance with the BACB.
- Oversees clinical services being provided in-clinic, in-home and community settings; responsible for ensuring quality and integrity of services.
- Conducts training of behavioral therapists as needed.
- Conducts a quarterly internal team meeting with staff.
- Shares responsibility with office manager for maintaining the client's schedule of sessions and for tracking and coordinating all hours and make-up sessions.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, participating in professional societies.
- May attend IEPs, conduct school observations and/or support parents in communication and collaboration with schools and other service providers.
- May also require interacting with funding agencies, managing referrals and other administrative duties.
- Conduct behavioral assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Implement behavior analytic interventions to address behavioral challenges
- Provide ongoing data collection and analysis to monitor progress and modify treatment plans as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for clients
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in accordance with regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Holds a master’s degree and BCBA certification or related license from the Board of Behavioral Sciences, BBS
- At least 5 years’ experience in the field.
- Upon getting hired will complete background check, fingerprints, CPR/BLS and provide evidence of degree and transcripts.
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification required
- Proficiency in data collection and analysis techniques
- Experience in patient assessment and diagnostic evaluation
- Knowledge of medical terminology and behavioral therapy principles
- Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities and special education settings
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse range of clients and professionals
