Job Overview
The Village Active Life Plan Community is seeking an experienced Bakery Chef to join our culinary team. This role involves preparing and decorating a variety of baked goods and desserts for residents and employees, adhering to standardized recipes and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Prepare appetizing baked goods and desserts following standardized recipes
- Delegate responsibilities to cooks assistants as needed
- Assist in cleaning functions to maintain a safe and sanitary work environment
- Ensure food is stored, marked, dated, and covered correctly using FIFO methods
- Meet food production schedules according to the menu
- Notify the Food Service Director and/or Chef of low-supply items
- Perform other duties and assignments as required to support daily dietary department operations
Requirements
- At least one year of experience baking from scratch in a busy kitchen environment
- Creativity in introducing new items to the menu and decorating skills
- Ability to delegate responsibilities effectively
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety
