DIETARY ASSISTANT JOB DESCRIPTION
Full Time and Part Time hours available. All positions require working every other weekend.
Purpose of Your Job Position
The primary purpose of this job position is to provide accurate, timely food service to meet residents’ needs in accordance with all department policies and procedures as well as current federal, state, and local regulations.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
1. Set up trays and food service carts accurately and in a timely way.
2. Serve, monitor, and assist residents with tray set-up during meal service.
3. Observe resident’s eating habits and report problems or changes to the dietitian and / or Food Service Director.
4. Clean, sanitize, and set tables in the dining area after each meal.
5. Stock, clean, and monitor inventory in the resident snack rooms.
6. Use equipment in a safe and correct manner and clean / sanitize equipment according to facility policies and procedures.
7. Maintain residents’ rights at all times and resident confidentiality according to facility policy and HIPPA guidelines.
8. Attend all required in-service training programs for Food Service employees.
9. Work cooperatively with Food Service staff and all other departments.
10. Come to work as scheduled in neat, clean attire and consistently demonstrate dependability, punctuality, and professionalism.
11. Observe all facility policies and procedures.
12. Accept assignments cooperatively and perform all duties assigned in a timely and professional manner.
13. Perform all other related duties as directed by his / her supervisor.
14. Assume accountability for all data contained in the employee’s handbook.
15. Accept responsibility for knowing and adhering to safety procedures within the department to include location and function of the ansel pull.
QUALIFICATIONS / COMPETENCIES :
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or GED preferred
LICENSURE
None
EXPERIENCE
Previous food and dining experience preferred
