Qualifications:
Education:
- Graduate of accredited RN School of nursing, BSN preferred
Licenses/Certifications
- Valid RN License in the state employed
- Valide CPR Certification
Experience:
- 3 years experience as a Director of Nursing, Asst Director of Nursing, or equivalent supervisory nursing experience.
Job Functions:
- Plans and guides for the professional development of nursing staff
- Rounds on units at least once daily and assures that all clinical protocols and nursing policies and procedures are followed.
- Develop and manage systems to assure clinical competencies and training needs
- Performs general management functions such as interviewing, hiring, discplining and evaluating employees
- Plans and facilitiate meetings and committees to address resident care issues
- Review time sheets for accuracy before payroll.
- Participate in developing, implementing and evaluating programs that promote the recruitment, retention, development and continuing eduacation of nursing staff members
- Participates in Employee Recognition Program.
- Initiate studies to evaluate effectiveness of nursing services in relation to their objectives and costs.
- Develops and manages staffing scheduler system and nurse on call system wiile ensuring adequate nursing staff are available based on facilty/census requirements.
- Investigate and resolve patient/family/employee concerns.
- Proactively addresses survey and/or standards of care issues
- Collect data to compile reports in a timely manner, and to meet deadlines.
- Assure pharmacy, dietary, and physician consutls and followed in timely manner
- Assumes complete responsibilities for the Center in abasence of Administrator
Knowledge/Skills/Abilitities
- Skilled in directing and motivation the workforce
- An ability to communicate effectively with patients and family members, and at all levels of the organization
- Ability to react dicisively and quickly in emergecy situations.
- Ability to organize and prioritize
- Knowledge of training techiniques techniques for clinical staff
