POSITION SUMMARY:
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, attractive, and safe
environment for residents and staff in accordance with established WRSL procedures and as
directed by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- One-year related experience in a similar environment with on-the-job training
preferred.
- Able to operates cleaning equipment such as: mangle, iron, washer
& dryer, brooms, mops, vacuums, etc. required.
- Must be able to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary
to accomplish the job required.
- Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure compliance and understanding of all regulations regarding residents' rights.
- Cleans public areas and resident's apartments, including bathrooms, kitchens, patios
& windows, floors, furniture, and common areas.
- Performs all housekeeping duties, following a cleaning schedule and instructions as
directed by supervisor.
- Sweep and vacuum all assigned areas
- Clean and/or polish all room furnishings, fixtures, ledges, heating/air conditioning
units in resident rooms and all public areas.
- Clean windows and mirrors in resident rooms and all public areas.
- Clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, and
deodorizing.
- Clean all hallways, stairways, and elevators as necessary.
- Empties wastebaskets, and transports trash and waste to disposal area.
- Stocks cleaning cart with supplies.
- Submit maintenance work orders of general maintenance concerns and/or problems
to Maintenance Director or Executive Director.
- Report to supervisor any unsafe/hazardous conditions within the community and any
needed repairs to housekeeping or other facility equipment.
- Clean and check model rooms and work in concert with admissions to ensure that all
incoming residents' rooms are cleaned and ready for move-in.
- Clean the employee break room when necessary.
- Check and refill all paper towel and soap dispensers as necessary.
- Reports resident issues or changes in health or living status promptly to supervisor.
- Attend in-services and staff meetings as requested.
- Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring
and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rights.
- Be responsible for your own safety having understanding and complying with all
Willow Ridge safety practices, policies, and procedures.
- Maintaining an awareness of safety hazards and unsafe practices and reporting them
immediately to the appropriate supervisors when identified.
- Actively participate in any injury/accident investigation applicable to your position.
- Be a member of, on a rotating basis, on the community's Safety Committee that
include attending meetings and participating in reviewing community safety
compliance and reviewing injury and accident investigations.
- Participate in annual safety training in-services.
- Performs all other duties as needed or requested by supervisor.
LEADERSHIP:
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding residents, staff, and the community.
- Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step
instructions.
- Able to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
- Maintain flexible work schedule to be available to work evenings, nights, weekends,
and holidays as needed.
- Follow Willow Ridge Senior Living policies and procedures.
PHYSICAL/SENSORY REQUIRMENTS:
- Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10-25 pounds of force
frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or
otherwise move objects.
- Additional physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling,
crouching, crawling, bending, twisting and generally all movement associated with
housekeeping.
- Must be in full compliance with all regulatory required vaccinations (including COVID
19, MMR, etc).
OSHA CLASSIFICATIONS:
- Potential for exposure to bloodborne pathogen.
