Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing support and guidance to individuals struggling with substance abuse issues. This role requires a deep understanding of various therapeutic techniques and the ability to create a safe, supportive environment for clients. The Substance Abuse Counselor will work closely with clients to develop personalized treatment plans and facilitate group therapy sessions, ensuring that each individual receives the care they need to achieve recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine the needs of clients.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on client assessments.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions, promoting open discussion and support among participants.
  • Utilize cognitive behavioral therapy techniques to help clients identify and change negative thought patterns.
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed, ensuring client safety and well-being.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals in hospital settings to coordinate care for clients.
  • Offer child family counseling services when appropriate, addressing the needs of families affected by substance abuse.
  • Provide ongoing support for clients dealing with PTSD through specialized care strategies.
  • Engage in home community care initiatives, extending support beyond traditional settings.

Experience
Candidates should possess a strong background in substance abuse counseling or related fields. Preferred qualifications include experience with the following:

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy
  • Applied behavior analysis
  • Group therapy facilitation
  • Crisis intervention strategies
  • Child family counseling techniques
  • Knowledge of PTSD care practices
  • Experience working in hospital environments or community-based care settings

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of those struggling with addiction and who are committed to ongoing professional development in the field of substance abuse counseling.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $26.80 - $29.02 per hour
