IICAPS is an intensive in-home program for children at risk of psychiatric hospitalization and their families. IICAPS provides a unique opportunity to build strong connections to families in their natural environments. Services includes individual and family therapy, parenting skills training, school interventions, crisis support, case management and advocacy. IICAPS operates from a multidisciplinary, team approach where you will work in teams of a clinician and mental health counselor, both of whom lead sessions and treatment meetings.You will have the opportunity to collaborate with various professionals of different disciplines weekly. Teams receive weekly group supervision and individual licensure supervision. Teams are provided IICAPS model training provided by Yale as well as in-house training to promote clinical growth and development.

Job Summary

The Clinician provides direct services to clients, in the office, school, or other identified setting to meet the unique needs of families served. Unlicensed clinicians are hired prior to obtaining their license to practice as mental health practitioners (i.e. psychology, social work, LMFT, LPC, LADC). Unlicensed clinicians will receive supervision by a licensed clinician and may be offered training opportunities. When eligible, all unlicensed clinicians are expected to obtain licensure in order to be considered for ongoing employment at The Village.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct services may include, but not limited to:
    • Conducts comprehensive clinical assessments and engagement
    • Determines DSM V Diagnosis in consultation with Supervisor and Medical Director or designated Psychiatrist, as needed
    • Develops treatment plans and contracts for services
    • Implements treatment plans, modifying it as appropriate during the course of treatment
    • Discharge planning, which may include linkages to community support services
    • Provides case management services
    • Completes clinical documentation required by agency and program policies, HIPAA regulations, and funding sources
    • Maintains productivity targets determined by service
  • Participates and presents in Peer Consultation and Quality Assurance Reviews.
  • Fosters collaboration with other clinical and administrative staff to respond to client and programmatic needs, including the implementation of agency policies, procedures, and initiatives.
  • Partners with other program or clinical staff to identify and develop approaches to address clients unmet needs or service gaps.
  • Acquires and maintains the needed skills in evidenced based models that the agency/program ascribe to.
  • Partners with Supervisor to identify and develop plans for professional growth.
  • Contributes to program functioning by assuming responsibility for special tasks or leadership in special projects as appropriate.
  • Contributes to agency organizational life by participating in agency wide task forces, committees or problem solving teams as appropriate.
  • Contributes to agency visibility and development of community linkages by representing the Village in community groups or committees.
Required Experience

EDUCATION

  • Masters degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage or Family Therapy or other licensed-eligible counseling degree.
  • LMSW, LPCA or LMFTA or equivalent preferred.
  • May graduates and those that are licensed eligible are encouraged to apply!

Experience

  • Two years of clinical experience working with children or families is preferred (diagnostic, assessment and treatment for individual, family)
  • Experience working with culturally diverse urban populations.
  • Knowledge of mental health, child welfare systems and community resources.
  • Proficient in oral, written documentation and correspondence.
